Carol sits at an open-flame torch to melt the glass.   The beads are built on a "mandrel" that has been coated with a separator.  The colors are melted and mixed and the beads are shaped using various tools.  Beads are then allowed to cool, a process that varies depending on the size.  When cooled, the mandrels are soaked in water, which dissolves the separator and, ideally, the beads slide off.  The inside of the holes are reamed out to remove any leftover separator and   THEN YOU HAVE BEADS!
